HELLO INTERNET

David Guetta played last night so let's talk about how this noob went to a concert!

It's my first concert (like the legit kind, not like when Project Pop played in Brunei) so I was really excited for this one even though it's mid exam week.

Doors open at 7, so we thought we have to get there early so we can get front row since it's only a general admission ticket right? Got there around 10 minutes to 6 expecting a crazy crowd already but there were only like 10 people there. Whut. That's not even the worst part! When I look to my right, I get a good view of Rod Laver Arena and people were lining up to watch Fleetwood Mac!!! *cries*

5 minutes to 7 and the line starts to grow. Security checks your bag and the guy who checked mine was so nice, he just said 'just zip your bag, it'll be ok, you're not allowed to bring bottles'. Water is expensive ok guys. The other side of the security check was so strict, you hear bottles being thrown in the bin like bass drops.

We managed to get in early and we were like second row behind the barrier in front of the stage. And there I was thinking I might actually enjoy this view and hear DG play with his French accent. UH WRONG. It was 7.30 and he only comes in at 11! Sakit kaki kan bediri for 4 hours please. And the crowd weren't so huge so at one point we decided to sit it out and after that buy food. Long story short, we didn't really get in to enjoy the guest DJs play but towards the end, the crowd gets real heavy and the area was so full. That's when we decided to find a way to squeeze ourselves into the front row again. Yeah, no, we couldn't get to our initial spot so we settled for like the corner (but still very close to the stage!!) view.

When DG finally came out, YES it was great. YES it was loud. YES the crowd was fun. He played some really great beats, and the crowd loved it. We got this bracelet too when we got in, and at first I didn't know what it was but wore it anyway which apparently turned into this flashing light thing when DG played. Like the whole time I was thinking how creepy it was for the management team to have control over the thing that's on our arms. Cue Valentine from Kingsman.

It ended around 1 and since there were no more public transportation available and the taxis were all hired, we decided to go for Uber. Just a reminder that when a lot of people are using Uber (and there were a lot last night), they hike up the price. Ours was Price x 1.7. Initially it was 2.8 like tf? The driver then called us and he was so nice when we got in and stuff. Found out he used to go to Clayton and then Caulfield and I'm like brrroooooooo we're a team! At one point he drove the opposite direction of where we were headed and we told him he's in the wrong direction and he appologised and said it's his first time.
'Your first time?'
'Yeah, this is actually my first Uber drive. I just got cleared this morning.'
'OMG it's our first Uber ride too!!!'

We went all sakai on that because he was so nice and like told us stories and stuff and even opened the door like yo this is your car don't worry you don't have to be so nice. We went noob mode again when we arrived, asking him how we're paying him. Uber debits it from your card guys. APPARENTLY.
Because we were really excited about our first Uber ride, we took a picture with Feroz (that's our driver), he was all cool about it too. Such a nice guy.

I don't know if you can tell from this post that I'm more excited for the Uber ride than I am for David Guetta's concert. Thing is I'm not that crazy about EDM, like I listen to it, I dance to it but I'm not like a die hard fan or anything. If you asked me to choose between DG and Maroon 5, I think you'd know what my answer is. I still would prefer to go to one where I can sing along with it, and not see how low I can go when the beat drops. Naamsayin?

I woke up just now with sore arms and sore legs as if I've just done crossfit?? I don't understand.

LESSON IS wear comfortable shoes. I'm serious. You can jump and dance much better in them than you will be in heels. Sure you'll look good and all but you can also look good in sneakers what? Also, bring a small purse/sling bag so it won't be too heavy when you dance. When staying hydrated....maybe you could spare a few dollars to buy it at the concert venue? It's easier that way so you can just hold on to it.

It really depends on what type of concert you're going to. If it's designated seating, you have the luxury to come at whatever time you want since you know you already have a seat. For general admissions, you could come early to get good seats. Compared to my situation, coming late or early doesn't make a huge difference. I could've came at 10.30 and still squeeze myself to the front row.

Comfortable clothes too. If it's going to be a lot of dancing and jumping, chances are it's gonna be hot. So bring a jacket with you and take it off inside. If it's cold outside, it'll be warm inside. And since most concerts end late, you'd probably end up taking a taxi anyway so you don't really need a thick jacket.

I took some pictures but not a lot (most of them were on Snapchat, people already hate me for that overpost) but here's some! I'd post videos too but it takes up so much timee.
