OLA
Few days late, but I'll update it anyway.
Last Wednesday (18/4), I had my English oral exams.
And as easy as I thought it would be, I realise that I was shaking facing the examiner.
Although, I mean, she was really nice and helpful to get rid of the nervousness, butterflies were in the stomach.
One thing I learned was to never aim for a topic before exams because that could really bring you down.
So, I talked a blabful of things beforehand to calm me down.
During the introductory conversation, it went quite well.
So she asked me what I do during my spare time.
Or rather, what I like to do.
Trying to break the ice, I said I like to listen to music aside from actually trying to make them.
HARDIHARHAR MILLS
I thought she was gonna give me the "Music" question but she just stared at me.
So I continued.
My passion lies in religious studies.
Not specifically Islamic, but my focus point is usually in comparing them.
Usually Judaism with Islam.
(This is the part where she started to look interested and starts to flip papers)
Research on notable people in history such as King David and Samson and Saladin and Pol Pot and (rambling goes on) is what usually eats my time.
And I love it.
Obviously, the whole "Music" thing can go shatter itself in dreams because I got "Exploration" instead.
I was like DA HELL IS THIS
And she's like 'No, its "Is this the hell" '
HAHAHAHA GEDDIT
I just made that up
Obviously.
except for the part where I went DA HELL IS THIS in my head
That is as real as it gets
So, the whole time I tried to think of what to say
A place where I'd like to explore would be a place that has been reigned or is still reigned by women.
AND JUST LIKE THAT
I was about to drive myself in a path of full feminism that was supposed to be a joke.
Queen Mary, Victoria, Elizabeth I & II, Margaret Thatcher, Julia Gillard, Benazir Bhutto, Florence Nightingale.
I mean, CMON MAN what is up in your head
I went all I won't call myself a feminist, but rather a pro-feminist which are 2 completely different things.
It's like saying durian & corn ice cream is the same because they're both yellow.
Some men perceive that the roles of women are to bake and to make babies.
& for being the first female and the longest serving Prime Minister in the 20th century, Margaret Thatcher has done so much to prove that women and men are equal and of the same level physically and mentally.
So this was basically what I said.
& all I can do is pray that I get an A.
